Learning Disability Week 2024

Celebrating Learning Disability Week at Just Checking!💜🩷

At Just Checking we’re proud to be supporting Learning Disability Week. This year’s theme, ‘Do you see me?’ aims to raise awareness and promote the visibility of individuals with learning disabilities.

Learn how you can get involved here.

Our Just Roaming system is designed to empower individuals with learning disabilities, giving them the tools they need to live independently and safely. To mark Learning Disability Week, we want to highlight the amazing achievements individuals have made with our technology.

Using Just Roaming, Ben’s support staff identified his anxious behaviours through frequent and unexplained overnight movements. This understanding of Ben’s anxiety enables staff to offer timely support, resulting in a noticeable reduction in anxiety incidents over time.

You Can Read Ben’s full story here.

Celebrating in Wakefield

We have also been busy out and about. We celebrated Learning Disability week at the Ridings Shopping Centre with Dimensions UK!

Attendees joined Sarah and Dan for a chat to learn about how Just Checking provides support to individuals with learning disabilities – plus there were sweets and goody bags!

Filming in Rhondda

This week we have also been working with Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council, Cartrefi Cymru and Five on a Bike to gather  feedback from people and their support teams about how Just Roaming technology has improved their support.

It was exciting to hear the ways the technology has positively impacted their day-to-day lives. The support team talked about overcoming their initial reservations, after seeing the impact on wellbeing and independence. We can’t wait to share the full story in the coming weeks!
