Katie kicks off the session by discussing Digital Care Hub’s ongoing learning disability research and digitisation in the adult social care sector.

The Willows
Anne, Mark and Katie together tell the story of Nottinghamshire County Council’s new supported living service, ‘The Willows’, covering commissioning efforts, developing a technology-enabled model of support, reducing restrictions and enabling individuals to have more autonomy and control over their support.
Just Roaming really helped us think about a different way of managing risk. We really focused on a culture of improving quality of life… our fundamental aim was to reduce restrictions.
Open panel discussion
All of the session’s speakers come together for an open panel discussion. Topics discussed include the concept of ‘it’s not safe’, mitigating risk, how to commission the right technology and the use of AI in tech solutions.
Ultimately, the challenge for all of us is that cultural shift around attitudes to risk and whether tech is or isn't suitable. Please do think about what are the risks of not using TEC as well as the risks of using it.
