The Diamond Jubilee: Remembering the Coronation

We’re celebrating the Diamond Jubilee, but who remembers the Queen’s Coronation?

Shiela and Derek Taylor have happy memories of 60 years ago. As a young woman Shiela camped out overnight on the pavement with thousands of others to catch a glimpse of the newly crowned Queen Elizabeth.

For those suffering from memory problems, reminiscing about their past can be fulfilling, and it’s sometimes surprising just how many long-term memories remain despite the dementia. The archive footage being broadcast over the over the weekend will resonate with many; why not take the opportunity to have a chat and find out what it was like to be there.
