Real Life Options, a national voluntary organisation providing specialised care and support for people with learning disabilities, is working on an exciting project using telecare to increase the choice and support available to its clients. Just Checking is being used as part of this initiative.
The Birmingham Transformation Project is happening throughout the West Midlands, and is the first of its type to be evaluated by an academic body – Birmingham University. Over a two year period, the project will seek to assess how a truly person-centred approach, coupled with the introduction of telecare and Direct Payments, can affect the lives of people with learning disabilities and support the sustainability of long-term service delivery.
Just Checking is being used as part of the project to assess needs, and to objectively inform the choice of telecare installed in each property.
